This site doesn't show Mexico-bound waits. The numbers on this page cover traffic entering the U.S., reported by CBP.
More on where these numbers come from: how border wait times work.

Gateway is downtown Brownsville's main walking bridge into Matamoros — 24 hours, with covered pedestrian walkways and four live readings: General and Ready for both cars and walkers. (Not to be confused with Gateway to the Americas in Laredo.)
Southbound (into Mexico) — Cameron County bridge system (checked 29 August 2026): car, pickup or motorcycle US$5, or US$4.75 with the AVI account · pedestrian US$1 · extra passenger axle US$3. The county table's bicycle (US$1) and bus/RV (US$10) rows are system-wide price classes — their eligibility at Gateway is not established. AVI is a toll account, not a CBP program. |
GSA broke ground on the Gateway port modernization in May 2026, with completion anticipated late 2029 — new pedestrian processing, passenger lanes and outbound space, so local routing may shift while today's lanes keep operating. A 2025 federal permit also authorizes a separate future pedestrian crossing here; nothing has opened, and today's pedestrian waits are on this bridge.
Yes — around the clock for cars and pedestrians, with four independent live readings above: General and Ready for each. B&M, the other downtown bridge, also runs 24 hours; Veterans at Los Tomates closes at midnight.
No — Gateway reports General and Ready waits for cars and walkers, but no SENTRI lane; Brownsville's SENTRI car wait is at Veterans, open 6 a.m. to midnight, which also carries the corridor's FAST truck lane.
No — a 2025 federal permit authorizes its construction, and no opening has been announced. Today's walking waits are on the existing bridge, which reports pedestrian General and Ready around the clock.
