Four bridges link greater Brownsville with Matamoros. Gateway and B&M, both downtown, run around the clock for cars and walkers; Veterans at Los Tomates adds SENTRI, FAST and scheduled cargo until midnight; and the Free Trade bridge at Los Indios, west of the city, carries the county's oversize and transmigrante traffic. Freight trains cross separately on West Rail, with no traveller access.
