There are no accounts on this site, and it sets no cookies of its own. Almost everything it remembers about you is stored in your browser, and you can clear it at any time. The exception is an alert: it stores the anonymous address your browser gives out for notifications, and what you asked to be told — no name, no email. It is deleted within minutes of the alert expiring, or the moment you turn it off.

Your location
“Near me” asks your browser for your coordinates, works out which corridor is closest, and then discards them. They never reach my server, and nothing about them is stored or logged. If you decline the permission, only that button stops working.
The homepage does not use your connection’s approximate location to choose crossings. Nearby suggestions appear only when you choose “Near me”. They do not change your trip settings.
What your browser holds onto
Your saved crossings, recent trips, direction and travel mode stay in your browser. Saved shortcuts open the trip you saved; other links follow the trip in their address or the page’s default. I never see your saved list, and none of it identifies you.
Corridor and crossing links carry your direction and mode, so a shared link opens on what you were looking at. Nothing else is included.
Clearing site data for borderdelays.com removes everything your browser holds. On my end, an armed alert is deleted within minutes of expiring, or the moment you turn it off. What outlives it is a log of each alert attempt — its wording, the time, and an internal device number that identifies nothing once your watches are gone — kept about a month so the same alert is never sent twice.
Who else is involved
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and page speed. Cloudflare says it does that without cookies, localStorage or fingerprinting.
Cloudflare also sees the ordinary traffic any host sees, including your IP address, because it serves and protects the site. That sits under their terms, and I don’t use it to build a picture of you.
Nothing else loads from anywhere else. The fonts are hosted here so that opening a page doesn’t call out to anyone. That beacon is the only outside script on the site.
