How to read this

I check both feeds every five minutes, and the agencies publish about once an hour. A feed checked two minutes ago can still be showing a reading the agency made much earlier.

A feed shows as delayed here when nothing has come from it for 30 minutes, which is six missed checks in a row. If both feeds go quiet for that long, the check starts failing and I get an alert automatically.

Each agency is also judged on its own, on a longer fuse. Two hours of silence from one feed raises its own alert, so an outage at one agency cannot hide behind the other still working.

What an outage looks like on the site

When a feed stops, the cards do not go blank and they do not show a zero. They keep showing the last reading the agency published, labelled with its real age: ageing, then stale once it passes an hour. A stale reading cannot win the lowest reported wait on a comparison page.

If an agency published nothing at all for a lane, the card says so.
