About this crossing
Paso del Norte is downtown El Paso's bridge into downtown Juárez, open around the clock — with one rule that surprises drivers: cars cross northbound only. Pedestrians walk both directions; there are no trucks. Driving into Mexico, use BOTA, Ysleta or Stanton.

SENTRI and Ready Lane
CBP reports General, SENTRI and Ready car waits northbound, and General and Ready pedestrian waits. On the Mexican side, Chihuahua's Línea Exprés subscription serves SENTRI and Global Entry holders with an authorized vehicle.
The bridge
The current structure was rebuilt in 1967 — about 982 feet between El Paso Street and central Juárez's avenues toward Mexico 45. The U.S. inspection facility dates to the same rebuild, with later renovation and expansion.

No — the road deck carries cars northbound only; pedestrians cross both ways. Driving into Juárez, use toll-free BOTA, Ysleta, or Stanton — Stanton's southbound lanes take ordinary cars around the clock for a US$3.50 cash toll.
Is Paso del Norte open 24 hours?
Yes — CBP lists the crossing around the clock for its U.S.-bound lanes. Pedestrians cross both ways; cars northbound only. Individual lane programs keep their own windows, so check the live SENTRI and Ready lanes above before a late-night crossing.
Can trucks cross at Paso del Norte?
No — there is no commercial service here. El Paso's cargo crossings are BOTA, weekdays 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and toll-free, and Ysleta, weekdays 6 a.m. to midnight plus Saturday to 2 p.m.
