Quick answers

Which Detroit–Windsor crossing can you walk or cycle across?

Only the Gordie Howe Bridge, on its free multi-use path, which keeps shorter hours than the bridge itself. The Ambassador Bridge lists pedestrians, bicycles and scooters as prohibited, and the tunnel admits no pedestrians and no two- or three-wheeled vehicles.

Which Detroit–Windsor crossing allows motorcycles?

The Ambassador Bridge and the Gordie Howe Bridge, both at the car rate; the Gordie Howe toll classes are set by height, so a motorcycle pays the under-2.3 m rate. The tunnel prohibits motorcycles along with scooters, bicycles and every other two- or three-wheeled vehicle.

Which Detroit–Windsor crossing takes cash?

The Ambassador Bridge takes U.S. or Canadian cash at the booth, as well as credit cards. E-ZPass is announced for fall 2026; check the operator’s notice before relying on it. The tunnel is cashless: debit and credit cards, its Nexpress account or its app, paid in the currency of the side you leave from. The Gordie Howe Bridge takes cash only in attended lanes, and cards and digital wallets in every lane.
