Southbound (into Mexico) — City of McAllen (checked 29 August 2026): pedestrian US$1 · car or pickup US$4 · motorcycle US$4 · two-axle bus US$7 · three-axle bus US$9. Two southbound EZ Cross lanes take the city's prepaid card (US$5 card, US$52.50 minimum opening deposit by check or money order; reload online). EZ Cross pays the toll — it is not SENTRI, which is CBP's separate inspection program. |

Yes — cars and pedestrians around the clock, by both the city and CBP. A passenger trip that needs 24-hour access belongs here; Anzalduas closes at 10 p.m. and Pharr's passenger windows are narrow.
Can pedestrians cross at Hidalgo?
Yes — this is the corridor's walking bridge, with a live pedestrian wait reported around the clock. Its neighbours are no substitute: pedestrian access at Anzalduas is unresolved — call 956-681-1820 — and Pharr is primarily a cargo bridge.
Is EZ Cross the same as SENTRI?
No. EZ Cross is McAllen's prepaid southbound toll account; SENTRI is CBP's trusted-traveller inspection program with its own separately reported wait. An EZ Cross card will not put you in the SENTRI lane northbound, and SENTRI enrolment will not pay the southbound toll.
