About this crossing
Cross Border Xpress is a ticketed pedestrian bridge connecting a San Diego terminal directly to Tijuana International Airport, open since December 2015. It is for airline passengers only: crossing requires a paid CBX ticket, a qualifying TIJ boarding pass, and the usual travel documents. Anyone without a TIJ flight uses San Ysidro or Otay Mesa instead.

A bridge ticket is a fare, not a toll, and prices vary by season and how far ahead you buy. On 29 August 2026, standard advance fares started at US$31.99 one-way / US$51.99 round trip in regular season and US$36.99 / US$62.99 in high season, with last-minute rates higher. Family tickets cover groups of four to six crossing together, and children under two need no ticket. The website and kiosks take credit and debit cards; the operator says terminal kiosks also take cash. Parking is charged separately.
When you can cross
Southbound, the bridge opens to you within 24 hours before your TIJ departure; northbound, within two hours after landing. You scan your ticket and boarding pass at electronic gates. The enclosed bridge is about 390 feet long, with luggage carts, and an Assisted Pass adds wheelchair-accessible transport and luggage help.
Trusted lanes
CBP reports General and Ready pedestrian waits at CBX. The operator says SENTRI or Global Entry may be accepted for eligible U.S.-bound U.S. citizens showing the card; a CBX ticket itself confers no trusted-lane eligibility.
