Quick answers

What are the opening hours?

Milltown Bridge is open 9:00 am–5:00 pm Atlantic time on the St. Stephen side and 8:00 am–4:00 pm Eastern time on the Calais side. Despite looking different, these are the same hours of the same day: St. Stephen keeps Atlantic time, one hour ahead of Calais on Eastern time, so both agencies describe an identical window. Outside those hours the bridge is closed. Some third-party sites list 6:00 am–6:00 pm for the U.S. side; that is wider than either agency publishes, so travellers should trust CBSA and CBP over an aggregator.

Commercial traffic

Trucks and other commercial vehicles should route to the International Avenue Bridge instead, which is the corridor’s dedicated commercial crossing and keeps round-the-clock hours.

Hours across two time zones

CBSA and CBP are not disagreeing. They are reading the same clock in different zones. St. Stephen, New Brunswick sits on Atlantic time; Calais, Maine sits on Eastern time, one hour behind. CBSA’s office record gives Milltown’s hours as 09:00–17:00, seven days a week. CBP’s feed gives port 011502 hours as 8 am–4 pm. Those two windows describe the identical hour of the identical day, stated twice.
