Ferry Point runs directly between downtown Calais and downtown St. Stephen and serves passenger, pedestrian and bicycle traffic. International Avenue is the bypass-style crossing southwest of downtown; it handles the corridor’s commercial trucks and has a duty-free shop. Its old dedicated NEXUS schedule is not confirmed in current agency records.

Yes. GSA describes Ferry Point as processing pedestrian and non-motorized traffic, and its assessment identifies the bridge as a walking and cycling link between the two downtowns. Travellers still pass through border inspection, and commercial vehicles must use International Avenue instead.
Is the bridge open 24 hours?
CBP’s Border Wait Times table lists the Calais Ferry Point port as open 24 hours a day. That is its published normal schedule and is not a substitute for a same-day closure or travel notice. Check the official boards immediately before departure.
NEXUS enrolment in Calais
CBP’s Calais Enrollment Center is at 3 Customs Street. It holds NEXUS interviews Tuesday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; call the port and use extension 232 before travelling for an appointment.
The third bridge: Milltown
Calais and St. Stephen also share a third, smaller crossing at Milltown, upstream of the two bridges tracked here. CBP lists port 011502 with 8:00 am–4:00 pm hours and publishes a U.S.-bound reading, but CBSA publishes no matching Canada-bound record, so this site cannot show it in both directions.
