I’m Jacob. I live in Windsor, Ontario. My wife lives in Michigan, so we cross the border constantly.
I built this for myself. I wanted one page I could check on the way to the bridge, and the official sites weren’t it. CBP covers the trip into the States. CBSA covers the trip into Canada. Each will show you a timestamp if you go looking; neither puts both trips on one page or says plainly how old each reading is.
So I put both agencies on one page and showed how old each reading is, or that the agency gave no time for it. It now covers every crossing the two of them publish.
What it does
Every number here comes from CBP or CBSA. I don’t measure anything myself, and I never average the two. I check both feeds every five minutes and show you the last thing each agency said, and when they said it.
What it doesn’t do
The agencies count the line at the booths. They don’t count the road getting there.
I don’t guess either. If the agency for your direction published nothing, the page says so instead of showing you a zero. A reading older than an hour is marked stale, and stale readings can’t win the lowest reported wait.
None of this is official, and I’m not affiliated with CBP, CBSA or any bridge or tunnel operator.
