Nogales and Nogales

Nogales international rail crossing Freight rail, not a traveller crossing

What crosses here

Arizona’s only international rail line crosses the border at Nogales, through the downtown port area. It is not a road or pedestrian crossing and has no traveller wait times — cross at DeConcini, Morley Gate or Mariposa.

The line

Union Pacific works the line north toward Tucson; Ferromex carries it south toward Hermosillo, Guaymas and Guadalajara.

Quick answers

Can I cross here by car, on foot, or by train?

No. This is a freight-only boundary — Union Pacific connecting with Ferromex — with no public passenger service of any kind. Cross at DeConcini (24 hours, cars and pedestrians), Morley Gate (walkers, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.) or Mariposa (6 a.m.–10 p.m., including trucks). Never approach a rail line or yard to attempt a crossing.
