Lacolle Route 221 carries Quebec’s Route 221 across the border at 300 Route 221, Lacolle, QC J0J 1J0, facing the small community of Overton Corners, New York. CBSA’s own name for the office is “Lacolle: Route 221” — distinct from the larger Autoroute 15 crossing a few kilometres away at Champlain–St-Bernard-de-Lacolle, which is a separate office with its own hours and its own U.S.-bound reading.
Lacolle Route 221 is open to travellers from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, seven days a week. It is not a 24-hour crossing. Commercial trucks clear customs on a narrower schedule: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and the booth is closed on holidays. NEXUS lanes toward Canada run 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week, wider than the general commercial window but still not around the clock. Plan your arrival inside these hours, because nothing processes here outside them.
CBSA runs a dedicated NEXUS lane toward Canada at Lacolle Route 221 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week. That is wider than the commercial window, but still short of the 6:00 am to 10:00 pm hours the crossing keeps for general traffic. Outside that twelve-hour window, NEXUS members use the regular lanes like everyone else.
Commercial trucks work on a separate, narrower schedule: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, closed on holidays. A truck that reaches the booth at 6:00 pm on a weekday, or at any hour on a weekend, has no commercial clearance here even though the general travellers’ lanes may still be open. NEXUS traffic gets the widest window of the three: dedicated lanes toward Canada run 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, seven days a week, still short of the crossing’s own 6:00 am to 10:00 pm hours.
Commercial cargo can face customs, permit or processing fees separate from any road toll. Confirm those charges directly with CBSA before travel.
